Blush isn’t as old fashioned as everybody may think. If applied correctly, blush can create a beautiful and feminine look. Blush helps to brighten a dull complexion or create a glow on a tired face.
Women often choose a blush that is too extreme for their skin - too light, or too dark. Women that have a light skin tone should use a shimmery peach or light pink blush. Anything more will be too extreme. Medium skin tones should stick to warm peach colors and warm pinks. For darker complexions, try a deep brown or deep pink tone, but stay away from light blushes.
Many women make the mistake of applying too much blush. Start off by dipping a makeup brush into the blush and tapping off the excess powder. You do not want to get too much blush on your face. To start, apply a few long, upward strokes at the apples of the cheeks. This will make the blush appear even.
A couple of reminders when applying blush:
Apply your blush after you’ve applied your other makeup.
For a sun-kissed glow, use bronzer as opposed to blush. This will make you look like you just got back from a tropical vacation.
Apply less blush than you think you might actually need. Blush appears darker in daylight.
To avoid looking like a clown, don’t cake the blush on. Blush will naturally make you look more vibrant.
